XP Securities has opened a Miami branch at 701 Brickell Ave. with about 15 employees relocated from its New York office. It plans to employ 100 people in Miami in about a year, a news release said.

The former director of research and chief economist at the Central Bank of Chile will oversee the Andean region for the Brazilian-based firm.
Garcia Lagos replaces Guida as CEO of Itaú Chile AGF
Until now he was serving as chief investment officer at Corpbanca. Guida was been named head of wholesale products at Itaú Asset Management and has returned to Brazil.
