AFP exposure to emerging markets rose in September to nearly 25%, compared with only 10% in December 2015. The largest allocation for the month was for USD 136 million into Vontobel Emerging Markets Equity–I, made by a single AFP.
Chilean AFPs boost exposure to Latin America and Japan in September
AFPs continued to withdraw from US equities, while plowing money into Latin America and Japan. High-yield bonds and emerging markets funds ended up on the losing end as well.
Colombian AFPs boosted their exposure to emerging markets in August
Colombian AFPs in August increased their exposure to emerging-markets equity by US 477 million, lifting their stake in the region to 24% just behind that of Europe. iShares reached USD 6.4 billion in AUMs, leading the field.

iShares big beneficiary of Colombian AFP focus on emerging markets
The iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF was by far the biggest gainer for the month, with allocations coming from AFP Proteccion, with a USD 218 million deposit, and smaller amounts coming from Colfondos, Porvenir and Old Mutual.

Chilean AFPs added allocations to Asia and emerging-market-bond funds in August
Funds from Templeton and BlackRock led the advance in the Asian region, while an Asian products from Investec and a Japanese fund from Julius Baer were among the biggest losers in August, which was another bad month for US and European funds as well.
Fixed-income and flexible funds drive inflows in August
The Brazilian mutual fund industry posted net new inflows of BRL 21.1 billion (USD 6.4 billion) in August 2016, bringing total NNI to USD 72 billion in the first eight months of 2016.
Allocation from Colfondos bolsters Pictet European fund
The USD 150 million allocation juiced the AUMs of the Pictet Europe Index-I EUR product in June. Meanwhile, AFP Protección made some significant changes to its portfolio that impacted Morgan Stanley, iShares and Vanguard.
