Despite double-digit gains of the local stock market in July, investors dumped balanced and mixed funds and were agnostic on equity vehicles. Flows into short-term funds were strong, however.

Meanwhile, the fixed-income category received a USD 661 million allocation that reversed a USD 518 million outflow in June. AUMs of USD 17.5 billion in cross-border fixed income were at a 12-month high.
iShares Emerging Markets a magnet for Colombian AFP money
Amid a pullback from Europe and North America, Colombian AFPs were not shy about plowing nearly USD 500 million into the iShares Emerging Markets ETF in the March-May period.

Total allocations in equity as of June, at USD 37 billion, were the lowest in over a year and compare with USD 50 billion a year earlier.
Equity, fixed-income funds posted strong returns in June
In the year through June, the industry recorded net sales of BRL 38.1 billion (USD 14 billion), 29.5% more than in the same period last year, led by the Fixed Income and Pension funds.
Colombian AFPs made play for emerging markets in April
Exposure to emerging-markets climbed to 15%, up from just over 10% in December 2015, benefiting iShares and Fidelity. Henderson also scored a major allocation in the Euro segment.

Chilean AFPs bolt from global equity May
AFPs cut their positions in May from over two dozen Asia-oriented funds and ETFs, while also trimming their exposure to Japanese, North American and European equity, leading to a net redemption of USD 1.9 billion in the fifth straight month of equity outflows.
iShares bears the brunt of Colombian AFP portfolio reshuffling
The AFPs redeemed USD 522 million from iShares ETFs in February and USD 548 million in January, as allocations to the US and Europe were sharply reduced.
